Winery and Brewery Excursion - Hunter Valley

Food and Beverage students visited Hunter Valley industry partner, Brokenwood Wines during an excursion to explore wine production and sensory evaluation techniques first-hand. Teaching staff provide many opportunites that incorporate industry visits and other innovative learning strategies in to their delivery of relevant and up-to-date hospitality training. Cellar Door Manager, Grant Radford (who is also a part-time teacher with the T&H faculty) explains about Brokenwood's latest vintage at the famous "Cricket Pitch" vineyard.

Students also visited Potter's Brewery, as part of their bar module studies to gain a broader understanding of beer production processes. The micro-brewery offered a totally hands-on experience along with the opportunity to sample boutique beers such as kolsch, larger and oyster stout! Potters Brewery are a further example of a long standing industry partner that supports the faculty's faciliative approach to learning.
